Women's Ministry
Efforts in national women's ministry began in 1997, and in 2000 the National Women's Ministries Department, Compagnes d'uvre pour Christ du Niger (Coworkers for Christ in Niger), was officially founded.
The primary goals are to reach as many women as possible through their friendship and personal evangelism, to participate in the spiritual development of the church, and to help improve the general welfare of women in Niger.
The first nation-wide womens meeting was held in Niamey in 1998. The first week long national convention was held in 2001. Quarterly regional rallies, bi-annual national conventions and bi-annual minister's wives seminars are just some of the regional and national activities for the women. In each of the local churches the women have organized local groups in order to evangelize and disciple the women of their communities.
Shelley has been involved in the efforts of the women's ministries both locally and nationally since its birth in 1997. She currently serves as the national treasurer.
